We had a lovely, relaxing week in La Castagne in Le Fitou gite. The gite was very comfortable and extremely well equipped and we would love to return there for another holiday - maybe more than one week next time. The gites are very well situated being such a short drive to many interesting and varied sites and are in a wonderful and relaxing setting. The pool was very inviting and the sunsets from our gite terrace were beautiful. There was a lovely welcome pack and the owners Ruth and Ferguson were both very welcoming and friendly and yet respectful of their guests' privacy. We would have no hesitation in recommending these gites for a relaxing holiday.

We spent 2 weeks here and it really couldn't have been any better! A beautiful place to stay with fabulous views, and accessible to the Med and the Pyrenees. Due to us having to make a change in our booking we stopped in Cabardes the first week and Minervois the second, and both were great! Cabardes is small and cosy with a lovely sunny terrace, and Minervois is big and spacious with a garden and view (including the fabulous sunsets!)which makes it very hard to leave! (To fall out of the gite and into the pool wasn't hard however!) Both were perfectly equipped, and we had a welcome pack both times!
Ruth & Fergus are very knowledgeable about the local area, can always come up with suggestions, and if there is something they don't know they'll go and find out for you.
The Saturday market at Revel is great fun, a boat trip along the Canal du Midi very relaxing, and Carcassonne is just stunning and a must-see!
We found a little private vineyard for wine-tasting, O'Vineyards, near Carcassonne, which is worth a visit and very welcoming.
The simple pleasures too of just sitting in the garden with bread, cheese, pate and wine for lunch makes for one great relaxing holiday!
In short it was so good, we had the most fabulous time, Ruth & Fergus are so lovely, there is plenty more to come back for, and we feel like we would be visiting friends - will definitely be back in the not-to-distant future!

Thank you Ruth and Fergus for a wonderful stay. A wonderful place to be, so central for site seeing and relaxing. Hope things are going well for you. Got my Laptop fixed, a new motherboard fixed it.
We hope Atomic is ok now.

My new wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed our honeymoon at La Castagne. The gite was not only very comfortable but also extremely well equipped with everything we would need for our stay. Our hosts really have thought of everything. The grounds were beautifully maintained and the swimming pool just perfect. An ideal location to explore the region. We only wished we could have stay longer. We cannot recommend La Castagne highly enough and wouldn't hesitate to return again one day. Next time for two instead of just one week. Thank you Ruth and Fergus, keep up the good work. We wish you every future success. With kind regards, Glenn and Claire.

My boyfriend and I stayed for a week in one of Ruth's and Fergus' Gites. The first two days it rained but the remaining days the temperature climbed up to 32degrees! ... Combining the gorgeous weather with a clean, heated swimming pool one would expect to spend a large amount of time beside the pool... As much as we'd have liked to, we only spent 1/2 a day of our stay there as there was surprisingly a lot to see and do; such as cycling along the Canal Du Midi, walking up the Pyrenees' mountains, hiring a tandom, swimming in a gorgeous natural lake surrounded by forests, visiting local markets, the world heritage castle at Carcassonne, going to Narbonne beech, dining at the Michelin starred restaurant in a local Chateau, having bbq's, spending time in a wine cave in Castlenaudary ETC!! Our gite was beautiful. Everything you need is there.. such as a washing machine, cork screws and blankets... even DVDs when you fancy a relaxing night in with a nice French red wine and local cheese! Our hosts were most friendly and always availalble. Overall, a lovely holiday at a lovely place!
